Season 2017

A time to celebrate

The Midnite Youth Theatre Company at Christ Church Grammar School is Western Australia’s longest, continuously running youth theatre company for young people aged 10 to 25 from Perth, Western Australia.

2017 is a special year for us here at Midnite. It marks 30 years since our first season in 1987 – and three decades of joyous experiences for young people. Valued by artists and audiences alike, Midnite is treasured for its continued commitment for those seeking to explore beyond the limits of school drama; producing work in professional venues and touring productions internationally. We fulfil our mission each season, transforming young peoples lives through the production of classic plays, comedies, musicals and Australian works.

This season opens with a hilarious American musical for grown ups at the Subiaco Arts Centre presented by the Midnite Ensemble. This is followed by a story of growing up in wartime Perth; a technicolour extravaganza at the Heath Ledger Theatre; a pirate musical that will have you dancing in the aisles, and a cult TV phenomenon for a new generation.

Along the way young people get to celebrate the joy of theatre, and begin to imagine a world beyond their own.

We look forward to celebrating with you at Midnite in 2017.
